Erste Private Banking is part of Erste Group. Founded in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank, Erste Group went public in 1997 with a strategy to expand its retail business into Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Its work is transnational in nature, as culture is taken to be a driving force of democratic societies and a builder of bridges in a region which, after the political upheaval and violent conflicts it has experienced, is demonstrating a tendency to fragment, both linguistically and politically speaking.
• Europe
  The Foundation promotes the process of European integration by providing an international platform for exchanging ideas, knowledge and initiatives. The projects in this programme are characterised by their emphasis on common European values, cooperation and learning from one another.
